Definitely!  At low light levels the number of photons available is the
limiting factor to acuity...regular acuity anyway, but I wouldn't be
surprised if it was true for stereoacuity as well...

Are you free-viewing cross- or wall-eyed?  If wall-eyed, then I'd guess it
is the removal of the lens...
