Pseudo-VM?

How common is pseudo-stereo in commercial VM reels?  I recently saw a
reel with shots of bobsledding.  When viewed with both eyes, two of
the images make the bobsled look like a ghost image inside the ice
wall of the track.  The left and right views each look fine, so it
is not an artifact of glare or reflections.
