Peening for synch

Re George's post...

The technique of stretching a piece of metal is called "peening" I
believe. I've never resynchronized a Realist, but I have resynched Kodaks,
and the technique seems to be identical. Once you've identified that
peening instead of crimping is called for, you put the bar on an anvil and
strike it. Don't get too wild and crazy, because, then you end up having
to crimp. BTW, Micro-Mark sells crimping pliers-- a cheapo version of what
dentists use in orthodontics that are really great for this purpose. The
pliers all have different head configurations for different types of
crimping and bending. If you don't want to fix your camera you can always
use them to tighten your braces or make yourself a nose ring.
