"Perspex" is the same material as "Plexiglass" in the USA.  I don't know 
how easy it is to obtain anymore...most of the stuff I see in places 
like Home Depot is acrylic, not Plexiglass, don't know if acrylic 
de-polarizes or not.

Another idea would be to bead-blast one side of the Plexiglass, if you 
have access to a bead-blaster.  I  have done this with small pieces 
(4x5 inches) and have gotten fairly uniform results.
