Jim, sorry about the delay, I've been catching up on digests.

I cannot -compare- optics, since I'm not familiar with the Am. St. kit
you're discussing. The Euroscope uses fairly good quality acrylic
lenses,
a step up, IMHO, from the inexpensive set that Taylor-Merchant sells.
