Greetings,

Your aggregate device is a stereo camera because it does what a
stereo camera does. The component SLR's are not stereo cameras
because they don't do what a stereo camera does, just as the left
lens of a Realist isn't a stereo camera either... just part of one.

The single camera, when used with a slidebar or even used "cha-cha"
style also is a stereo camera because it takes stereo photographs.

I define a stereo camera as a device (of any construction) that takes
stereo photographs (moving or still).

In other words, if it does what a stereo camera does, then it is one.

Some may be better than others or easier to use than others, but they
all "are one".

To me, that's clear-cut. If there is any ambiguity to be "discussed"
it would be along the boundaries of what counts as a stereo photograph.
I decline to offer a definition of that. :-)
