In P3D digest 1877, George Themelis mentioned the slide demonstration of
color from black and white as per Land's experiments...

     Some years ago I took some b/w Polaroid instant slide film with
complementary filters over the lenses of my Realist... the results were good,
interesting, at least. One difficulty was high retinal rivalry in some shots.
If anyone is inspired to experiment with this, I would suggest lower strength
color filters.

     I envision a b/w stereocard with light color separation between the
images which are appropriately lightly tinted. On viewing stereoscopically, I
expect delicate "natural" color not unlike a tinted view.

     This might be the answer for those who want their color stereo efforts
to last hundreds of years! :=)
