I was about to disagree based on the $150,000 - $250,000 aerial mapping cameras
and then realized that those manufacturers (Zeiss & Leica) also manufacture
"viewers" (stereoscopes) as well as even more specialized instruments for use in
a true stereo (hyper) application.
The cameras are used to take overlapping photos rather than simultaneous stereo,
but otherwise meet George's criterion for a "system".
