Achromatic Viewing
I am very happy! I conveted Alan Lewis' pocket stereoscope to
a conventional unit by borrowing parts from the Keystone No. 50
Home Training Stereoscope. I attached the achromatic scope
to the shaft (drilled a hole for the handle too) and are using
the cross bar too that holds the card.
The result is an excellent all-purpose stereoscope equivalent
to the monster brother in all respects. It can be held very
steadily. Very quickly I can detach the sterescope part and use
it for the intented purpose by fitting it in my pocket and carrying
it around.
The unit can also be attahed to a permanent base. The possibilities
are endless and I am gladdd I now have a top quality portable
achromatic stereoscope!
Actually the Keystone Training Sterescope is a fine unit too
(and I have one for sale - check sell-3d right now!) but I would
rather keep the achromatic scope.
I used my achromatic scope as-converted to view a wonderful set,
U&U Spain. This set is filled with interesting images of people
and cities, instead of boring scenery or ancient sites. If you
have a chance, get it. You will find it an excellent set even
if you are not directly interested in the subject.
