That was the Artec ScanROM 4E.  I sent email to Artec at the end of January
with some technical questions, and I got back a reply from their sales
department, dated 6 February, saying that the scanner would be available in
a couple of weeks, and that they would forward my mail to their tech dept.
for answers to my questions.  I haven't received any answers, but if I can
find the scanner locally I'll probably buy one, if the drawer is able to
take glass-mounted slides, and I do buy it, I'll send a report to this list,
and post some sample scans on the web.
