I think that Jamie shot his first reel with a VM camera, only made many
copies (took the same picture many times?) He shot his second reel with
a single SLR in a slide bar and had it reproduced the VM size, which is
a common practice in later VM photography.
The original poster asked about _cropping_ Realist to VM size. And I was
talking about cropping full frame 35 mm pairs to VM size. In other words,
in these VM reels the _original_ Realist or full-frame chips are used.
There is no copying or reduction in size taking place, only masking.
A bit tricky (well, very tricky) but not impossible.
