Cheese it, it's the FEDs!

Interesting thread on the Nishika here; personally, my first 3d photo
experience was through two cheapo disposables lashed together. Good for
static subjects, but leaving me anxious for more.
Since then I picked up a Realist 3.5 (and a good light meter) and have very
much enjoyed it, but have come to crave automatic exposure and faster
shutter speeds, so I purchased a FED from Harry Kleinsmiede. Today I ran
through my first roll of film and will see the results of some admittedly
static subjects (old habits die hard!) tomorrow. It was pretty easy to get
used to the one-two-cha-cha-cha film winding, and the focusing based on
portrait/group/landscape icons; the proof is in the proofs.
If anyone has any stories, opinions, etc. of this line of fine ex-Soviet
bloc technology, I'd love to hear about it. Meanwhile, I hope to put the
autoexposure/fast shutter speeds to the test at the Aiken, SC steeplechase
on Saturday, 3/22.
