Thanks for your input into the dialog.
I agree with you about the "we're having fun" portions - but my take on
it was different. Rather than sharing their fun with us, it seemed
more like - "We don't have enough material to fill the tape - let's
include this silliness and put some shots in twice. Maybe no one will
notice that even though we were in Alaska (!) we hardly showed any
of it at all."
If, as you say:
"Among the Pulfrich tapes, in fact, it probably uses the effect more
consistently, more skillfully and more successfully than almost any of them."
...then I think that says quite a bit about the "other" tapes. sigh...
As we circle the 3-D drain, trying to snap up the disappearing bits
of our recreational technology before they disappear into history's
sump (like Albion mounts) I can't help but think that as more people
are turned away from good 3-D illusions, that can only serve to
quash once again the sporadic resurgence of the growth of interest.
