Alaska 3D

I agree with your sentiments, even as I shudder at your overwrought
rhetoric. The biggest problem with most of the Pulfrich videos is simply
that they want to cash in on the 3D buzzword without bothering to actually
deliver anything. Although extremely limited, the Pulfrich effect is (some
naysayers here on the list to the contrary) a legitimate form of 3D, and
can be startlingly effective when used properly. But since it does kick in
from time to time, even when NOT used properly (indeed, even when not
considered at all during shooting), it's easy for some snake oil salesman
like the distributor of the notorious Roller Coaster video, to simply stick
a pair of Pulfrich glasses into any video ever produced and CLAIM that it's
in 3D. Then, to an uninformed purchaser who isn't aware that Pulfrich is
low-end bargain basement 3D and that many so-called Pulfrich tapes are
total frauds, the potential of good 3D is tarnished or lost. We've got to
keep trying to spread the word to both the disillusioned souls who think 3D
must stink because Roller Coaster Thrills stinks, and also to the
brainwashed souls who think that Roller Coaster Thrills is the most amazing
technological advance in filmmaking since sprocketed film.
