What do you mean by "inside of a well mounted slide pair"? What is
inside? How would you use this pattern to align future slides?
Which mounts do you have in mind?
Sprocket hole location is consistent (within possible slack in the camera
that causes frame overlapping). The RBT mounts use sprocket holes for a
lignment (but they also allow you to slide the sprocket tab to change the
stereo window).
Other systems, like the EMDE, are based on constant placement of the
chips in the mount. If the chips are cut properly (preferrably using
a sprocket-based cutter, like the Realist cutter) then sprocket
hole location is also constant. Heat-seal cardboard mounts are
also based on constant placement (with more slack than the EMDE)
Albion and Realist aluminum masks that have channels to slide the chips
do not attempt to center your chips but the user can certainly center
them "by eye". I don't see how trying to match a sprocket pattern
is any more accuarate than just centering the (properly cut) chips in
the mount.
