I'm in the same boat.  She gets irritated because there are other activities
and priorities that are important to her, that get pushed aside in favor of 3D.
Her devaluation of my interest in 3D is fueled by my devaluation of her priorities.
My wife truely has been very understanding of my 3D addiction, and I am learning
to respect her priorities. (The priorities she thinks I should adopt include: 
getting more sleep, more excercise, and eating healthier!!  What a selfish person:) )
