new digital printers and scanners

A new dyesub printer is available from Panasonic now.  The printer cost
is $449 and the media cost is $14.95 for 20 ea. 3.5x5 inch photos.

stated.  If anyone finds out, please let me know.

A new dual mode scanner from HP will be available this summer, price not
stated.  It can scan 35mm slides and negatives at 2400 pixels per inch
with 10 bit per channel color depth (30 bit color).  It can also scan
upto 5x7 at 300 pixels per inch, kind of marginal for my taste, but
tastes vary.  If the cost is low enough to support the pruchase for its
35 mm capabilities, I would sure take the 5x7 mode as a freebie. see
