PSA and slide competitions

That's nonsense! The competitions are very simple. The rating system
of stars, etc., that Elliott is trying to make fun of, is also simple.
You are rated according to your PSA acceptances. A certain number of
acceptances from a minimum number of different entries, qualifies you
for a star. It could not be any simpler than that!

Oh, so the system in Expo1 of voting for a bunch of groups, different
categories, etc. was simpler or better than the "PSA type stuff"???
Ha, ha, ha!!!

3rd or 4th place in your little local club??? Elliott!!!!! With that
fancy Realist Ektar with Seton Polarizers and your super-sharp Kodak
Stereo, and all the wonderful picture-taking ideas and techniques that
you have described in the past, I expected you can do better than that!
I bet the 2-3 people ahead of you are _active_ PSA members, aren't they?
BTW, I could dig some of your older statements here in Photo-3d,
regarding the stale atmosphere in local club competitions and why you
do not participate, but I don't want to embarrass you...
>I also shot the Best of Show stereo slide at the 1995 Atlanta combined
>NSA/ISU Salon D competition.
Big freaking deal! How many serious stereo photographers participated
in that event? If you want to brag, try and win "Best of Show" in a PSA
salon!!! (Oh, yeah, I forgot. You have no interest in that "PSA stuff"!)

Nah... we believe you... Note that these clubs are the cornerstones
of PSA and that they organize and host the PSA salons.
I am saving your statements for when you start entering PSA salons and
telling us how much fun it is... PSA is an organization of people
who take pictures instead of talking about taking pictures, collecting
pictures, or talking about the cameras that take those pictures.
PSA has a strong Stereo Division. The President of PSA is Pauline
Sweezey, a well-known and respected stereo photographer. Many
great stereo personalities from H. C. McKay to Ted Lambert have
been through PSA. I am a PSA member and I enjoy my participation
and the services that I get from my membership. I look forward to my
first PSA convention this September in Chicago.
Note: You can join PSA even if you have no interest in the salons
or competitions. Also, you can enter PSA salons without being a
member of PSA.
PSA stands for Photographic Society of America but it is open for any
one in the world and has plenty of foreign members.
To join PSA, contact: 3000 United Founders Blvd., Suite 103, Oklahoma
City, Oklahoma 73112-3940, USA.

PS. Smilies have been omitted for brevity. It is nothing personal....
I like Elliott and I like to tease him too!!!
