flash for stereo-realist

I'm new here, but enjoyed the red-vs-green button viewer discussion.

I've just developed and mounted my first set of slides from
my newly purchased Stereo-Realist - wow!  This is fun!  Now I 
want a flash unit...i'm aware of the need for a hot shoe
adaptor.  I've checked out the Reel 3-D catalog, and their 
flash unit sounds nice, but may be a bit more than i'd like
to spend right now ($226).  Can anyone recommend a good flash 
for use with the SR for less money?  Or should I be patient
and save my pennies?
