Expo rundown

Wow, big thanks to Joel for putting together the Expo!

Though one of our viewing group was MIA, (don't worry, Mike, you'll get to
see it...), Josh Rubin, Greg Dinkins and I endured an exhausting evening of
3D... Don't try to do it all in one night unless you absolutely have to.
What a range of stuff, from the merely good to the very excellent.  It
would be foolish to try to mention everything I liked, but personal faves
included all of the MF format stuff for sheer wow-osity.  Also, Leroy's VM
reel, Dave Huddle's Realist Macro stuff, Lauren Michaels' flower CU, John
Weiler's Aerial Colorado Rockies, and Elliot's B&W/.Color experiment  Allen
Carrano's dog... The list goes on. All in all, It was a rare chance to see
many  films, cameras, and mounts in action, seeing how techniques differ.
Very educational.

Later, Josh treated us to his own 3D video with Binaural sound... Captured
with a contraption that looks so loopy it would make a nishika user blush-
the Toshiba 3D camcorder with two mics mounted into the perfectly sculpted
ears of a model of a human head.   The sound is astounding.
