I generally use Fujichrome 100. If you follow the sunny 16 rule you should
have no problems with exposure. That rule says: 1/ASA second at f16 for
bright sunlight. For the Fujichrome 100, 1/100th of a second. Decrease the f
stop by one for thin clouds, two for heavy clouds, etc. Except for extremes,
I almost always get acceptable exposures. I keep an exposure around but
rarely ever use it.
I like Kodachrome 64 a lot but getting it developed is a hassle. The
Fujichrome I can have developed and returned uncut (and unrolled!) in an
hour for about $5 for a 24 exposure roll. I like the near instant gratification.
