Yes, you get all the disadvantages of the weight-shift technique
(i.e. each image of the horizontally-shifted pair is taken at a
different time), combined with the additional disadvantage of reduced
interocular. :-(

And since all four frames are exposed on one 35mm frame, mounting
would be a challenge.

Yup.  They're in the Johnson Smith Company catalog, among other
places.
