Information that is useful is sometime born out of these arguments... 
The trick its to read all the posts.. If you decide you don;t like 
where an argument is going, and stop reading those threads, you miss 
out on some of the information.

Also, a lot of the information that used to be passed along on this 
group is now available on web pages, so there is not as much need for 
asking the same questions over and over. The Web HAS changed this 
group.

I understand where this statement comes from, but I think the %'s are a 
bit off... Case and point, I find the current X vs II discussion 
fascinating because the results might change they way I present 3D 
images to the world via my web site. Also, I just posted a reply about 
file formats that is relevant to anyone considering the possibility of 
sharing what they know, or want to sell, or etc about 3D with the World 
Wide Web. I guess that might not be valuable information to some, but 
it does not change the fact that it is an exchange of information that 
has value for some.

All that to say that SOME ego is OK as long as it remains within the 
charter boundaries. When it does, good things do come through from time 
to time...
