3D News from Perth, Australia

While walking through the city last week my wife noticed a shop selling
stereo-pair postcards - I have her trained well  :-)
The cards are 22cm x 10.7cm.  The stereopair is in colour and in the 
parallel viewing orientation.  Infinity image separation on the card
I have is 109mm so I think most people would be hard pressed to free-
view the images.
The card comes with an envelope and a horrible handheld plastic stereo 
viewer.  The viewer uses fresnel lenses (presumably to keep the viewer
thin and less bulky) but the image when viewed through the viewer
is out of focus and smeared with colour fringes.  I tried it in both
orientations with no discernable difference.
You can see the stereo-pair image in 3D with the viewer but the image 
quality is very poor.  Pity, because the image quality of the actual
post card is quite high.

The cost was A$2.50  (approx US$2.00)  
There were many different images available (probably 20) mostly
shot around Perth and Fremantle.

Meanwhile Encore cinema in Perth city is still running 3D movies
and is currently showing:
 Jaws 3D                        Sat 8:15pm, Sun 4:15pm
 Starchaser Legend of Orin      nightly at 6:10pm
 Comin at ya                    nightly at 8pm (sat 10pm)
