3D TV confusion

This whole 3D TV thing is NOT going to do the image of 3D any good at all!
NBC and ABC are each using a different system entirely, and each is
incompatible with the other. The Pulfrich glasses in Barq's and Little
Caesars, with the one clear lens and the one dark lens (it is NOT a
polarized lens) are ONLY good for the "3rd Rock" show, and will not work
with the ABC shows. For them you need anaglyph glasses (red/blue) which are
obtained from Wendy's. They are not even standard anaglyph glasses, because
the two colors are reversed from the normal configuration. I don't know how
many people I've talked to who think one pair of glasses from any of the
sponsors (or a pair they have from an old comic book) will work for all the
shows. As if the whole thing wasn't confused enough, promos for "3rd Rock,"
(which is using the Pulfrich format) show pictures of anaglyph glasses,
which I'm sure will lead much of their audience to try and watch their show
with the glasses from the ABC promotion. Remember, too, that no entire show
will be in 3D. The ABC shows all include only brief isolated scenes of from
30 to 90 seconds designed to be deleted from the shows on re-runs and
syndication. Since Pulfrich is technically compatible with normal broadcast
and won't have to be deleted for future telecasts, the "3rd Rock" episode
will have a longer (10-15 minute, I understand) segment.
