I'm with the "never broke an RBT pin" crowd also.  A number of times I
handled a mount pretty hastily, definitely earning zero style points; my
premonitions of disaster were never fulfilled, much to my surprise.  The
RBT mounts seem quite hardy to me.

I agree with Brad Richmond's observation of "post-separation digital
discomfort," however.  Even though I've found the fingernail method
to work with any length nails, I often use tweezers, as described by DrT,
if I expect to be separating many mounts.
