Distortion does not bother me as much as chromatic abberration.
But, there is hope! My Revere/Wollensak lenses fit perfectly
and are a great replacement for the lenses in this viewer.

You should take a look at Mark Wilke's interview of Seton Rochwite in
Stereo World some years back. Seton, the inventor of the Realist, also
designed this viewer. At first, it was called "LIKE LIFE" but LIFE
magazine was bothered by the title and the fact that the typeset was
similar to LIFE's typeset. So, they asked to change it and the name was
changed to "LIFE LIKE". BTW, the viewer is still in production.
