Re: Richard's request for Pulfrich examples to explore: Although
not "tv or movie," you can download my free computer Pulfrich demo
(requires Windows). It's fairly simplistic, but you can run it
over and over to experiment with, for example, different speeds,
changing the orientation of the glasses. The program uses simple
flat clip art, so the "3D" effect in this case is a separation of
the moving object in the foreground from the stationary background;
there is no roundness to the moving object.
I don't remember the file name, but there is a link from my home
page at:
http://members.aol.com/ptww
There are two different links: one for standard VGA and one for
256 color mode or better.
Perhaps some of the computer graphics knowledgable folks could
answer a question I've been wondering about: what differing
effect could we expect if I were to replace the moving 2D clip art
with a moving 2-1/2D object? If anyone has a suitable object, or
can refer me to one at the right price (read: free), I can try it
out and upload the results.
