This is one that I agree and disagree with. I know that in every
magazine article I've ever read on rendering skin tones, Kodachrome's
superiority is apparently unquestioned. No longer. I question it. :-)
My personal experience with two individuals I've photographed several
times convinces me there is no one film for "people pictures." One
individual photographs well with Kodachrome and poorly with Velvia.
She is the one who has a ruddy or tan complexion. The other is light
skin toned and always looks sickly (more pale than reality) on
Kodachrome and more natural with Velvia.
I think Kodachrome may be the best overall for people pictures, but be
careful and don't assume all people are going to look better, i.e., more
natural, just because you are using Kodachrome.
