Lestrade viewer

Shelley Dan asks what might be the value of a Lestrade viewer in its 70's
Box with 3 view cards might be worth. I am not to shure about one from that
date but Lestrade is or was still available untill recently although I have
heard stories that they are finished .Including one from a shopkeeper in
Chamonix France three years ago yet when we were there two years ago other
shops still had them including the most recent versions .These come in red
plastic only in blister packs with one view for about 60F or about 6 pounds
sterling the views are around 18F each about 2 pounds. Some older viewers
were still around in boxes without a view but in various colours for 40 to
50 F . Some older viewers which I have only seen in ivory white seem to
better quality and are screwed rather than glued together . The internal
mechanism is metal rather than plastic and the lenses may be glass ,I was
able to buy one of these second hand in the UK for 6 pounds the price of a
new one in France . P.J.Homer
