It's been a while since I shot a roll in the Kodak, but I can tell you
that the Revere 33 does this, too.  It's not exclusive to the Realist
by any means.  (Although we should note that while both the Realist
and Revere focus by moving the film plane, the Kodak does not, so the
cause would have to be strictly the advance mechanism in the Kodak's
case.)
