OK, I guess you're right. I think I was mis-interpreting your earlier
post. Sorry.
The solvent thing had started as an off-hand comment in the thread about
the Kodak's rep as unreliable and threatened (it seemed) to go on forever.
I had gotten into that Sphinx's nose thing and didn't want to send the list
onto a slew of off-topic posts again. You're right, though, I could
actually offer the list some useful information. About time.
It'll take a couple of days for me to get things organized. Right now we're
talking about acetone, toluene, xylene, MEK, Camping fuel (Coleman), and
Realistic Tape Head Cleaner. If anyone has any other favorite solvents
that you want included, let me know. Trade names and/or descriptions would
suffice if you don't know the chemical name.
I'll work up a safety profile of sorts for each one, comparing various
properties, effects and hazards and post it to the list. That way everyone
can decide for themselves what they're willing to expose themselves to.
