Thanks for the explanation, Gary, but until you cited your source
of info I considered it heresay. Especially since I had read Fuji's
official statement. I am not sure how you know there are engineers
within Fuji that believe Velvia is an ASA/ISO 32 film (I do not recall
that being posted in the list and I don't have the time to search the
archives), but they do not speak for Fuji, and Fuji HAS spoken on this
subject.

Fuji's document clearly states that by the international standard
it is 50. Fuji says that the ASA/ISO testing procedure does not
work well for Velvia and that it is aware that many pros are using
it at ASA 40. Fuji further suggests that you should try ASA 64
for high key images and ASA 32 or less for low key images. The
full document even describes how to rate it yourself, based on
your photographic usage. So please stop telling people Fuji
believes it's an ASA 32 film. It simply isn't true. Fuji is
telling people to try roughly ASA 25 - 64 based on how you
use it. They are not 'agreeing' that you will prefer shooting
it at lower speed.
