Conflicting Instructions!

Hello; I was wondering if I might be allowed to benefit from the group's
experience and pool of vast knowledge.
Listen, after I learn how to use this thing properly, everything's going
to be great. I just bought a 2.8 Realist; it's the first stereo camera
I've ever owned. I'm having dilemmas over which settings to use with the
camera; those that Kodak recommends in their film boxes, or the '50s
advice given in the Realist Manual.
With my SLR, I use an electronic flash indoors with average settings of
1/125 and 5.6.  I usually use about 100 ASA print film. With the
Realist, I'm shooting 64 ASA Kodachrome slides, and I'm using electronic
flash with the hotshoe adaptor. I'm using 5.6, and for awhile, I was
setting the camera at 1/100. After a half a roll, I started setting the
shutter speed just a fraction to the right of 100, hoping to get closer
to 1/125. I get the Realist manual, and it says "Never set your shutter
speed in between the indicated numbers!" It wasn't really in between,
but just to the right of 100. It also says "Always set your camera for
flash (bulbs, I think) at 1/25! Isn't that kind of slow?? Also, it
suggests for outdoor exposures, set your camera at 50 and 6.3. The box
of Kodachrome film says to set the camera at 1/125 and 8 or 11 for the
same weather conditions.
Have I screwed up a couple of rolls of film already (not back from the
lab yet)??
What is the proper setting to use for electronic flash pictures? How
about the other Manual-suggested settings?
