Steven, generally you need to use the settings specified with the
film you are using. Note that if you buy, say, Provia 400 next
time, there will be yet another set of recommended settings. That
is because the required exposure depends on the speed rating of the
film. The advice given in the Realist Manual assumes you are using
Kodachrome 10; that's what they had back then.

As with most adjustable cameras, shutter speed settings on the Realist
are stepped, rather than continuously variable. Set the shutter speed
dial only on one of the marked settings. If you set it "in between"
two settings, you will probably get one speed or the other, but *not*
an "in between" speed. Note, however, that aperture settings with
the Realist, like most adjustable cameras, are continuously variable.
You can adjust your exposure in small increments by adjusting the
f-stop as needed.

That sounds like "in between" to me. ;)

Not for ASA 10 film it isn't!
Welcome to the world of 3D! You are embarking on an exciting journey;
please keep us informed of your progress!
Paul Talbot, Stereo Sophomore, wondering how a "Stereo Newbie"
manages to start out with a Realist 2.8??
