3D Exhibition...up and running!

Hiya!

Well, the 3D Exhibition is now up and running at the Sooke Region
Museum after a loooonnng day of preparations. It looks pretty good and
hopefully after an interview with the local newspaper on Tuesday, we'll get
a lot of traffic.

There are 31 artists represented with all sorts of 35mm formats,
several views, two anaglyphs (one still on the way), three lenticulars, a
ViewMagic, and one laser transmission hologram.

I had forgotten just how kooky the Sooke Region Museum is, and was a
bit startled to walk in again. The museum is a two-storey log cabin and
serves as the tourist information center, a museum of the areas history
(with all sorts of bizarre diaramas, rusty artifacts, and blow-ups of old
photographs), and then you walk upstairs to a small exhibition space. The
effect is rather strange, especially for people now! I really wonder what
visitors will think walking into all this 3D stuff sandwiched between
Grandma's wedding pictures and washing basin.

Thank you, once again, to all of the artists and to Hayden and
Gregory for donating the viewers. If anyone happens to be out this neck of
the woods please try and stop by for a look. The museum is open Tuesday to
Sunday from 10-5:00 and if you want a guided tour give me a call at
(250)598-3396 ;-)

Tomorrow I'll be posting a complete list of the works on view.

As for now...I'm off to bed :-)jamie.
