Paul, you forgot to tell us what creates the stereo window.  If you don't
answer this question then we cannot answer your question.  Traditionally,
the window is created by two rectangular masks (one for each image) with
parallel sides.  In the case, the window is parallel to the film plane so
the answer is that the object will appear in front of the window.  There are
however other possible window configurations that are not parallel to the
film plane.  -- George Themelis
