Okay curious George wonders "WHERE'S THE MONEY", quoting Jerry Maguire.
Sorry, couldn't help myself, with that quip. ;-) Haven't been myself
recently, with all the de-programming and all. ;-) Yea I agree this 3D
stuff is really a cult. Who in their right mind would travel across the
country (or world) to annual cult NSA meetings unless they were being
brainwashed and in consequence, sucked into the great depths of the 3D
Visionaries. ;-) Oh, wait a minute, I am rambling again! What's the
question? Oh yea, the 3Discover!
Okay in all seriousness, regarding photographers names, so far, it's done
by in house staff. Even the two founding photographers of the company,
don't have their names on the cassettes. With regard to outside
photographers, my guess is they would acknowledge the contributions.
As to payment, this is very preliminary and they haven't decided on
how compensation for pictures used, will be done. One thought, that
they mentioned is by percentage of sales, but don't hold them to that,
since this is not concluded. As mentioned they have gotten some unsolicated
3D material from Europe and are quite open to new projects. They are
not, however, actively persueing this avenue, and are just keeping their
minds and options open at the moment. George, as you know, no one is making
serious money on this stuff, yet.

Well with reference to the colors, this is all subjective. Personally I find
the colors to be very good. The contrast and sharpness is good. Now it's not
fare to compare mass production quality to custom slides and RBs! For a mass
produced item and for the price, the viewer and image quality is excellent.
You have to remember this is marketed for the masses and not of 3Dphiles.
As to the long term stability of the copying film, I have asked them about
that awhile back, since I remembered P3D list members mentioning (Dale labs?)
using movie film for their slide film and it's short term life span. They
(the company) said it should be stable. As to the term inferior, I don't
see why. I know there has been talk about movie film not being stable but
with what respects? Does it degrade due to projection or just with time.
Is this for old formulations or new has this been rectified? Can you or
someone, refresh the concerns with using movie film? Yes I have alot of
questions about this also. On a slightly different note, I have a hunch
that Tyco will be using movie film stock soon also. This is by putting
2 and 2 together!
Now to address the concerns of that particular segment, you can change
the lenses on the 3Discover very easily! Now of course this won't make
the contrast and sharpness of the images themselves better, but will
improve the viewing of the images. It's very easy to pop out the lenses
on the 3Discover and replace them with your achromatic lenses made for
the RB viewer. If inclined, just pop out the round black plastic that
holds the lenses (and changes the inter-ocular spacing). Once that is done
it's a simple matter to take out the plastic from the other side. To
put the RB lenses in place, just insert them from the side, where the
cassette goes in. You might have to shave a mil or so from the 3Discover
lens opening. It works pretty well and the 3D imagery is better. You can't
adjust the eye spacing though, unless some more modifications are done.
The nice thing about the above mod, is that the viewer can be restored
to the previous condition, with the original lenses, with no harm done.
Gabriel in de-lurking mode, thanks to Dr.T, cult leader!!!
