After reading Greg's explanation, I'm not sure why I bothered
to write one; his is better. I would add to his, though:

Or you can build a Wheatstone viewer and add lenses if you want
to view 4x4 shot with an 80 mm at 160 mm. Or you can make
even larger prints, say 16x16 and view at 640 mm in which case
you don't even need the lenses, just a Wheatstone viewer.
