Yes, I admit it is very specialized. But I do not agree that it is
essentially closed for 99.9% of stereophotographers. First it is not
limited to just caves. It is an underground folio and includes
subways, train tunnels, crypts, catacombs, mines, drain pipes, or
even that crawl space under your house *{;-). Anywhere that natural
light doesn't reach. My next set of entries will include non-cave
slides. Then there is always the commercial caves that are open to
the public. Almost every state has at least one commercial show cave.
And remember that the reason they can charge people to see them is
that they are usually really pretty. I have found the
owners/operators of most to be very reasonable when I ask for special
consideration to take pictures, especially stereo.

It is for me too. I would be very disappointed if I had to limit my
3d to just cave shots. I think I just have a lower threshold of
boredom because I have not seen even a fraction the amount of slides
as Dr. T. At this point I could sit down for days on end looking at
thousands of 3d slides and enjoy every minute of it even if they were
all of the same general subject.

Actually I have "attracted" many non cavers into the caving world
with my 2d slide presentations. If I ever get good enough to do a 3d
presentation, I am sure it would be much easier to attract them.
Well, maybe not when they can "see" how tight that crawl
really is *{;-)

Thank you for the good wishes. I have already converted two flat cave
photographers to 3d and just recently re-sparked the interest of two
of the world's leading flat cave photographers (Peter and Ann
Bosted). After seeing a slide show of mine they said they would have
to get out "that old Kodak" and try shooting again.

Thanks for the time,
