Twin Cable Releases

For synching two SLR cameras together manually,

I use a Kaiser Double Cable Release(Doppeldrahtausloser 50 cm)

model number 6130 which is 19.7 inches

long and has cone shaped ends which fit into my Nikons.

Unlike most other Y cables it can be adjusted to shoot

both cameras at the exact same time if you are

really good. Most of the other=20

cables I saw could not do this because they were

meant to be used differently.

What I do to get this synch is similar to the method

described by Allan Griffin to synch up two electronic cameras.

What you need to do is place both cameras in front of a good

light with the backs open and lenses wide open. They must be lined up to

see the light through both lenses, one directly behind the other.

Hook up your cable release and fire both

cameras at the same time looking through the back of the camera closest to =
you.

You will see the light ,at the same time, if you have synched the cables pr=
operly.

 Make the necessary=20

adjustments and keep trying to get the best synch possible.=20

When you can see the light

through both cameras at about 1/500 th of a second shutter speed, you know =
the

synch is pretty good.

Be sure to really tighten both cables because they tend to

=0Aslacken up quite easily if they are not tight. I use pliers delicately

to achieve this.
