Cable release on a Realist??

My Realist has a Straight thread cable release socket instead of the now
standard Taper thread socket.  What do I do?   Does some service guy cut taper
thread sockets?  Are Straight thread cable releases still available?  Is there
an adapter?

I need a quick answer for the after hours competition  :-)
