As Dan pointed out, VRex has released a public Beta version of DepthCharge.
DepthCharge is a plugin for 32-bit versions of Netscape Navigator and
Internet Explorer. The software is still in Beta so if you try it out,
any feedback is welcome.
DepthCharge dynamically converts stereo images (JPS currently) into your
preferred stereo viewing method. Supported stereo viewing methods include:
* Crosseye
* Parallel
* Anaglyph (Color, Greyscale, Pure)
* Various LCS glasses including the VR Surfer, 3D Spex with Total3D.
and more LCS glasses will be added in the near future.
For those who wish to show your own stereo images on the web, DepthCharge
allows you to present a single image that can be viewed by everyone. There
is no need to create separate anaglyph, crosseye, LCS, etc. versions of the
same image anymore! Utilities to create JPS files from your stereo pairs
(or anaglyphs) are in the works and will be released shortly.
DepthCharge is not only for the web. You can also use DepthCharge as a
standalone viewer to view images that have been saved on your hard drive.
VRex is also developing 3D Expo; a stereoscopic image/information mecca.
3D Expo will soon boast one of the largest stereoscopic image galleries
on the web. Check it out at: http://www.3dexpo.com
Any questions, comments about DepthCharge or JPS should be directed to
me, jon, at depthcharge@xxxxxxxx and not the Photo-3D mailing list
(unless it is somehow appropriate).
