***** I have to agree with Ron here 500%. It is pure silliness (mild
version of the real term) that would subject thousands of current working
personel to the horrors of 8 bit color limitations. It's not particularly
difficult or even expensive to upgrade those same workstations to full color
at least to the 16 bit level. It's about time that such a thing happened.
The demand shouldn't be to downgrade graphic web pages, but to get the
employers to wake up and upgrade their ancient and out-of-place
expectations! Put the pressure where it really belongs. Better color
rendition is useful for ANY computer oriented job. While they're at it, get
them to install stereoscopic viewing as well. That's also within financial
reach of many of these big companies who hire you to do work for them.
Remember that most employees see not only in color but use two eyes as well.
It's out of place for Mr. Big Cyclops, CEO to sit at home drawing half a
million dollars (only slight exageration to make a point) for his non-work,
while his hardworking underpaid employees are deprived of basic working
place requirements. Any complaint of no budget is BS. They could pay for it
out of their own pocket and not even notice a difference. Such CEO's don't
deserve even half their salary.
