You know it could work, depending on the plot.  Anyone see Doug Trumball's
'Brainstorm?'  I missed it at the cinema (way too young) and never
bothered on TV.  Anyroadup, while none of it was 3D the not-quite-VR
sequences were all shot at 70 frames per second.  This apparently is the
optimum frame rate to really fool our visual system, and the extra realism
was supposed to be really effective.  So a story involving a contrast
between dull old everday life and some form of enhanced experience could
benefit.

Now if only Stereo Imax could add 50% to its frame rate without shredding
the film stock.....
