Re: George sees the window moving fore and aft as the chip
spacing is adjusted.  After some additional experimentation, I
have found only one situation in which I can perceive something
like the effect that George describes: in one slide that I have
mounted in a 4P mask, when the chips are pushed so close together
that significant multiple window violations are present, part of
the window appears to have receded into the scene and grown larger
in apparent size.  This appears to be a result of the perceptual
confusion caused by the window violations, rather than a direct,
automatic effect of minor chip spacing adjustment.
