Re: Cleveland stereo club membership

Paul asks about long distance club memberships... He sounds like he is
ready to join not one but two clubs!  

To my knowledge, Chicago has the toughest regulation, excluding members
based on their distance from Chicago.  Detroit does not have any such
provisions but does not have any long-distance members who participate 
in the competitions, other than Jim and myself and those folks who go
to Florida during the winter.

In the Cleveland club we asked that members show in at least one meeting so
we can have the chance to welcome them.  The Executive Committee can accept
or reject (within reason) any membership.  So things are flexible.  The
regulation assumes "club year" (Sept.-June) but the EC can bend this rule.

Since you asked Paul, let me say that we have set our membership fees to
$15/year for individuals ($20 for family).  Full membership will bring you
the "Stereogram" and will also allow you to participate in your club
competitions and vote for officers.  For those who cannot attend our
meetings, we offer a $12/year subcription to our newsletter.

Our club has planned exciting activities for next year.  We will have 10
monthly meetings (Sep-Jun).  Each meeting has two 45 min. activities.  A
complete list of all 20 planned activities will be in the next newsletter.

Workshops (include presentation of theory and practice, projection showing
examples and applications, and questions and answers from the members):

It is going to be a busy and exciting year!

Next club meeting is on Tuesday July 1 st.  We will have a workshop on
stereo mounting, "open projector" (bring slides to project and discuss) and
voting of club constitution, club officers, and discussion on the planned
activities for next year.
