Larry Berlin proposes solving the "where is the window question"
with a special test image:

That sounds true enough with respect to the relationship between the
window and the objects in the scene.  But the difference of opinion
has been about how far the window appears to be from the observer.
This appears to be very subjective and open to several different
interpretations.  Or perhaps I should say two interpretations:
1) DrT's and 2) everyone else's.  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
