Re: Wedding Intruders?
Just last weekend I helped put on a wedding for my most wonderful Godchild.
I helped her select a photographer some weeks ago. We went around and
interviewed several local photographers who all showed us portfolios and
quoted prices. They were all like $1500 up with half down and the rest up
front before the wedding. This was minimum and scaled up from there
dependeing on the size of the album you chose. Most of them guaranteed like
3 hours of shooting but we found one that did the whole thing, from one hour
before to the bloody end. He also had the best reputation and, to my eye,
the best photos. My dear God Daughter also agreed. He was also the most
expensive.
>From the very beginning it was understood that others would be taking
pictures. This was never a problem with him. Quite a few others were there
with their SLRs (the wedding was out doors late in the afternoon). They (and
I) used his setups with no problem, even later in the evening after dark. He
was very congenial about the whole thing. And indeed he sould have been! He
gets paid anyway.
I got the thrill of taking my Fujichrome the next day to a one hour photo
place and mounting the slides that evening. I showed the "official" stereo
pictures to the newly weds as they returned from their honeymoon. They were
thrilled and it will be weeks before they get to see what their "official"
photographer took.
I don't regret the cost of the official photographer. He was very definitly
a professional and thru his sensitivity to setting up special shots (And in
managing the wedding itself. If you happen to be reading this list Mark,
Thanks!!) a very beautiful wedding was helped to be created.
