Mike, it sounds like an intriguing experiment. Since you've proposed
a "solid rule-keeping" background, the image should fuse easily and be
readily viewable. Your "ghost" would certainly be strange looking, as
obviously intended.
Unfortunately I think that's as far as any of us can go with a hypothetical
like this. "The proof is in the pudding", as they say. Show me the
actual image, and I'll tell you if it "works" for me, or not. And
that's not to say that it wouldn't "work" for somebody else. :-)
